Who we are
Alloa Baptist Church SCIO (Scottish Charity SC052944), 5 Ludgate, Alloa, FK10 2DR is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Questions about this notice or your information can be sent to secretary@alloabaptistchurch.org.uk.
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, chosen subject and message. We use this information only to read, route and respond to your enquiry and to keep an appropriate record of the correspondence.
Our usual lawful basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact the church. If you voluntarily include sensitive information, including health information or a prayer request, we rely on the explicit consent you give on the form. Please include only the information needed for us to respond.
Website analytics
We use ByteSight Analytics to understand how the website is used. It is cookie-free and does not store raw IP addresses or full browser user-agent strings. A temporary, daily rotating identifier is calculated in memory to estimate visitor numbers. We may record the time of a visit, page path without query-string data, page title, referring domain, broad device, browser and operating-system categories, and coarse location information where available.
Local analytics event data is retained for no more than 90 days. If the optional ByteSight cloud service is enabled, only aggregated statistics are transferred; raw IP addresses, visitor identifiers and individual event rows are not sent.
Who can see your information
Contact messages are available only to authorised church personnel. MeshaByte, our website hosting and technical-support provider, may access information when necessary to maintain or secure the service. We do not sell personal information or use contact-form details for marketing.
How long we keep it
Contact submissions are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact, then deleted. We may keep relevant information longer where this is reasonably necessary for safeguarding, pastoral care, resolving a dispute or meeting a legal obligation. Backup copies are removed through the normal backup-overwrite cycle.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for a copy of your personal information, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful beforehand. Contact the church secretary using the address above.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Security and changes
We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no internet service can be guaranteed completely secure. We may update this notice when our website or practices change.
